Hello! 2023 has got off to a wild and very busy start, but I am delighted to share that my second book, Better Left Unsaid, is 99.9% done and will be hitting bookshelves on September 5.
I’ve spent a lot of the last couple of months in edits on the book, and I couldn’t be more pleased with how it’s turned out, and I can’t wait for you to read it!
This one is about three siblings whose lives diverge in drastic ways after losing their parents. I’ve loved writing these characters and exploring themes of religion, sexuality, what it means to be a second-generation migrant in Britain today, privilege, and race!
You can preorder Better Left Unsaid right now!
We’ve just finalised the cover for the book and it’s so beautiful! Stay tuned for the big reveal soon…
World Book Night
Since my last update, it was announced that This Way Out has been selected as one of this year’s titles for World Book Night on April 23. This is such a fantastic scheme to encourage more people to read for pleasure. And World Book Night also gives away thousands of free books to people who might not have access to them, including in prisons, care homes, libraries, and more.
Growing up without a lot of money, books were a commodity, so this is something I’m so honoured to be part of!

PFD Queer Fiction Prize
There are just a few weeks left to enter this year’s PFD Queer Fiction Prize, which I am judging in the adult category along with my agent, Cara.
The Queer Fiction Prize is an incredible opportunity for underrepresented writers to have their work seen, possibly land an agent, and hopefully, get published!
It’s free to enter and you only need to submit three chapters of your work in progress.
Please do apply — I can’t wait to read the entries!
I’ve also written a list of top tips to help your entry stand out, which you can check out here.
Once again, thank you for your continued support of This Way Out. The Kindle ebook is just 99p in the UK and $1.49 in Australia all February long. Click here to buy!
Until next time!
